Synopsis
A remote American town is changed forever when a strange meteorite falls from the sky - slicing in two a herd of cattle in the process, triggering a sinister chain of events which will have far reaching consequences for the town, and humanity itself.
Louisa is a federal agent investigating the incident and starts to run routine tests on the meteorite…but nothing is as it seems.
Death is in the air. Animals are dying unexpectedly. And people are starting to act strangely - friends and family mirror each other's behaviour and thoughts…mutating into something unexpected - each other… is this telepathy? A miracle? A terrifying pathogen?
To Louisa’s horror, it is clear that the community are becoming nodes of a power outside of their control - an alien presence, or gestalt intelligence is transmitting through the town. Fast. They are becoming one.
The Gestalt are inside people's heads. And nobody is safe, from local police to school children. All except Louisa. Because Louisa thinks differently. She is neuro-divergent. And this seems to be an obstacle for the toxic virus which is fast taking control of the community.
As events escalate and hysteria breaks out, Louisa races to lock down and isolate the town before the outbreak transmits further. And before she herself surrenders to The Gestalt.
