Synopsis

Tilly (Kate Winslet) is beautiful, talented and distinctly unique. Burdened by guilt she returns to her hometown to find her mother, Mad Molly (Judy Davis), demented. Tilly is an outsider, accused of murder and turned upon by insular locals.

Whilst there is pain in the past and Tilly remains accused, there is a host of formidable characters who do the funniest, surprising and sometimes unsavoury things, bringing a reality to this warm-hearted Coen’esque human comedy.

Tilly is a genius with haute couture and armed with fabric and a needle she transforms and liberates the women in the town, ultimately exacting sweet revenge on those who did her wrong.

A femme fatale who falls unexpectedly in love with livewire Teddy (Liam Hemsworth), the romance leads to her greatest loss and most destructive deed. To reveal more is to risk spoiling a surprise…but when this avenging angel leaves, the town is ablaze.
