SISTER MARIA GOES TO ROME
Synopsis
Sister Maria (Thomasin McKenzie), a spirited young nun with unshakeable faith, brings joy and
light to her small Italian village. But when her beloved mentor, Father Angelo, falls ill, she must
travel to Rome for the first time to save the place she calls home.
Arriving to stay with her cousin, the beautiful Ana, Maria clashes with a jaded sofa-surfing tour
guide (Toby Wallace) who's lost his way. What starts as a delightful battle between wide-eyed
idealism and world-weary cynicism blossoms into an unexpected friendship that proves ordinary
people can do extraordinary things when they believe in each other.
In this eternal city, Maria grapples with her past, her faith, and who she will be in her future, while
ultimately remaining true to her village. Together, Maria and her unlikely companion discover that
when good people fight for what's right, miracles can happen.
In true Frank Capra style, Rome transforms into a magical place where hope triumphs, hearts
change, and every road leads to a new beginning!
