Synopsis
YouTube loves tearful family reunions—but no one films what happens after.
Meet Nicky (Rachel Zegler), an NYC teacher with a habit of petty shoplifting, whose engagement party sparks a search for her birth mother, Charlotte (Marisa Tomei) — a pill-popping ex-punk with boundary issues and a flair for fiction.
Their reunion unravels fast: DNA scavenger hunts, stolen cars, and a gas-station arrest. Meanwhile, Charlotte’s husband and Nicky’s fiancé form a support group for men left behind by genetic sleuthing.
When Nicky’s adoptive mom drops life-changing news, the family faces one big question: which mom walks her down the aisle?
Turns out blood isn’t thicker than boundaries.
